By using the platform and services, you are accepting the practices described in this privacy policy. Your use of the platform is also subject to our terms and conditions. In this privacy policy, refer to the Rentify mobile application and the Rentify website together, "we", "us", "our", and "Rentify" refers to 2671721 Alberta LTD, and "you" and "user", refers to you, the Rentify user.
This privacy policy may change from time to time. Your continued use of the platform and services after we make changes to this privacy policy will be deemed acceptance of those changes, so please check this policy periodically for updates.
This privacy policy has been developed and is maintained in accordance with all applicable national and international privacy and data protection laws and regulations and specifically, the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

2. HOW WE OBTAIN YOUR CONSENT
By using the Rentify platform, consisting of the website and the mobile application, users give their express and informed consent for the collection, use, processing and storage of their personal information under the terms described in this privacy policy. This consent is given freely and voluntarily in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and other applicable regulations in Canada.
Users acknowledge and accept that Rentify collects, processes and stores their personal data for the purpose of offering, managing and improving the services of the platform. By carrying out any of the following activities, users give their consent for the processing of their personal information:
Visiting and browsing the Rentify website.
Downloading and installing the Rentify mobile application.
Using the functionalities of the platform in general.
Register and create an account on the platform, either through an email address or through third-party authentication providers such as Google.
Publish one or more items for rent on the platform (Renter).
Rent an item through the platform (Rentee).
Create and sign a rental agreement through the platform (Renter and Rentee).
Make the payment of the rental amount and the security deposit required by the Renter.
Communicate with other users through the platform's internal messaging system.
Provide a review once a rental is complete (Renter and Rentee).
Contact the Rentify team using the contact details and the contact form available on the platform.
In compliance with PIPEDA, users have the right to withdraw their consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions. However, withdrawal of consent may limit access to certain functionalities of the platform and affect the provision of services offered by Rentify.
Likewise, Rentify guarantees that the processing of users‘ personal data will be carried out with appropriate security measures to prevent unauthorised access, loss, alteration or improper disclosure. 3. TYPES OF DATA COLLECTED
Rentify collects and processes different types of personal data from users when they access and use the platform, either through the website or the mobile application. The data collected may include information provided directly by users, information generated during interaction with the platform, and data collected automatically. The categories of data that Rentify may collect are described below:
3.1. Personal Data: Rentify may collect personal information that users provide when registering, interacting with the platform or using its services, including, but not limited to:
Full name.
Email address.
Telephone number.
Date of birth.
Residence address.
3.2. Identity and Verification Documents: In order to guarantee security and prevent fraud, Rentify requests identity documents to verify the personal information and identity of users. This may include:
Driver's licence.
Passport.
National identity document (DNI).
Other official government-issued identification.
In addition, at the time of collection of the item, the Renter will physically verify the identity document of the Rentee and compare it with the information registered on the platform before proceeding with the rental. In case of disputes, fraud or security-related incidents, Rentify may share these documents with the competent authorities when required.
3.3. Registration Data and User Account: When users create an account on Rentify, the platform collects the following information:
Authentication data and login credentials.
Profile photo (optional).
Linked account information (if you sign up through Google or another third-party authentication service).
Account preferences and settings.
3.4. Payment Data: To process transactions and guarantee the security of rentals, Rentify collects financial information, which may include:
Payment card details (through external payment processors).
Billing information.
Amount of payments made.
Transaction history.
Security deposits provided when renting items.
3.5. User Content: Rentify may collect and store content that users generate and share within the platform, such as:
Images and photographs of items for rent.
Photographs of the condition of the item at the beginning and end of the rental.
Messages sent through the Rentify messaging system.
Reviews and ratings provided to other users.
Electronic signatures on rental agreements within the platform.
3.6. Usage Data: Rentify collects information about how users interact with the platform, which may include:

3.10. Geolocation Data: In order to improve the user experience and facilitate the process of renting items between people who are close to each other, Rentify may collect geolocation data, such as:
Precise or approximate location of the user based on the settings of their mobile device.
Address provided by the user in their account or in a transaction.
Location from which the platform is accessed.
4. HOW LONG WE KEEP YOUR DATA
The personal data provided by users through the platform will be kept for the time necessary to fulfill the legitimate purposes described in section 5 of this policy and/or until the user stops using the platform, closes the user account, uninstalls the application or requests the deletion of their data. Rentify may retain personal data for a longer period provided that the user has given consent to such processing, as long as such consent is not withdrawn. In addition, Rentify may be obliged to retain personal data for a longer period if required to do so in order to comply with a legal obligation or by order of an authority. Once the retention period has expired, the personal data will be deleted. Therefore, the right of access, the right of deletion, the right of rectification and the right of data portability cannot be asserted after the retention period has expired.
5. PURPOSES OF DATA COLLECTION (LEGITIMATE PURPOSES)
Rentify collects and processes user data in order to provide, improve and ensure the proper functioning of the platform, as well as to guarantee the security of transactions and trust between users. The specific purposes of data collection according to category are detailed below:
5.1. Personal Data: Personal data is collected to:
To allow the identification of the user within the platform.
To facilitate communication between users of the platform, such as Renters and Rentees.
To protect the security of the platform and prevent fraud, including verification of user identity.
To provide assistance and support in case of queries or disputes.
To send important notifications about the account, transactions and changes in Rentify's services.
5.2. Identity Documents and Verification: Rentify requests identity documents for the following purposes:
To verify the identity of users and ensure that they meet the requirements to use the platform.
To prevent fraud, identity theft and other illegal activities within the platform.
To facilitate the resolution of disputes and claims in case of damage, loss or theft of items.
To provide information to the competent authorities in the event of incidents related to fraud or theft of property.
To ensure that the Rentee's identity document matches that registered on the platform at the time the item is collected.
5.3. Registration Data and User Account: Registration data and user account are collected to:
Allow access to and use of the platform through secure credentials.
To personalize the user experience and manage account preferences.
To synchronize the account with third-party authentication providers (Google, among others).
To maintain a history of transactions and activities carried out on the platform.
5.4. Payment Data: Financial and payment data is collected for the following purposes:
To process payments for rentals and security deposits.
To facilitate refunds or deposit deductions in the event of damage to the rented item.
To manage billing and maintain a payment history.
To apply the Rentify commission to each transaction between Renter and Rentee.
To detect and prevent fraudulent transactions.

To allow the publication of articles on the platform.
To document the condition of the articles before and after the rental by means of photographs.
To facilitate communication between users through the internal messaging system.
To allow the electronic signature of rental agreements within the platform.

5.6. Usage Data: Rentify collects data on user interaction with the platform for the following purposes:

6. HOW WE SHARE INFORMATION
The personal information of our customers and users is an important and fundamental part of our platform. Under no circumstances will we sell or share information with third parties that has not been previously authorized by the user or owner of the personal data. We share user information only and exclusively as described below.
6.1. Third-Party Service Providers. We use third-party services to perform certain functions on our platform. Some of these functions and services include: hosting the mobile application in the application stores (App Store and Google Play), hosting the website, processing payments (Stripe), data storage services, sending emails, and performing tracking and analysis functions on the platform.
These third-party services and tools may have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, but may not use that information for other purposes. Information shared with these third-party services will be treated and stored in accordance with their respective privacy policies and our privacy policy.
6.2. Notifications and communications. Rentify can communicate with you and send you automatic notifications through the website and the application and by email, push notification, text message (SMS) or by telephone, to keep users informed about updates, activities and other relevant aspects of the platform. To this end, users' contact details, such as their email address, may be shared with third-party services specializing in the sending of push notifications and emails.
Users have the option to manage notifications through their user account settings, where they can enable or disable notifications according to their preferences. In the case of emails, they can also opt out of receiving additional communications by using the “unsubscribe” option available in certain emails.
Rentify undertakes to use contact details only for purposes related to the activities of the platform and to ensure that any third-party services managing such communications comply with applicable data protection and confidentiality regulations. Users can contact Rentify if they need additional help managing their notification or communication preferences.
6.3. Business Transfers. In the event that Rentify creates, merges with, or is acquired by another entity, your information will most likely be transferred. Rentify will email you or place a prominent notice on our platform before your information becomes subject to another privacy policy.
6.4. Protection of Rentify and others. We release personal information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce or apply our Terms and conditions and other agreements, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Rentify, our users or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
6.5. With Your Consent. Other than as set out above, you will receive notice when personally identifiable information about you might go to third parties, and you will have an opportunity to choose not to share the information.
7. DATA BREACH NOTIFICATIONS
In the event of a security breach that compromises the confidentiality of the personal data of our users, Rentify undertakes to notify those affected in a timely manner. This notification will be made through the means of contact that have been provided by the user on our platform. We will take all reasonable measures to protect the information and remedy any situation that compromises the security of your data.
8. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFER
Rentify may transfer users' personal data outside their country of origin due to the use of hosting, storage and processing services provided by third parties that operate servers located in different countries. These transfers are necessary to guarantee the continuous functioning of the platform and provide an efficient user experience. Although Rentify is based in Canada, the technological infrastructure used may involve data being stored or processed in jurisdictions with data protection laws that differ from those in Canada or the country of origin of the data.
Rentify is committed to ensuring that all international transfers of personal data comply with applicable data protection regulations, including appropriate security measures to safeguard user information. This includes, among other things, the application of standard contractual clauses, the assessment of the adequacy of data protection in the receiving country, and compliance with the privacy regulations applicable to third-party services.
By using Rentify, users consent to the transfer, storage and processing of their data on servers located outside their country of residence, recognizing that such transfers are necessary for the operation of the platform. Rentify undertakes to take all reasonable measures to protect the integrity and security of personal data during such international transfers.
9. PROTECTION OF YOUR INFORMATION
We grant access to your personal information only to those outside persons or services that have a legitimate need to know it and in accordance with our privacy policy. We adhere to industry-recognized security standards to protect your personal information, both during transmission and in storage. However, it is important to note that no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is foolproof and 100% secure. Therefore, while we at Rentify strive to implement commercially viable data protection methods, we cannot ensure absolute security of your personal information. We undertake not to sell, distribute or transfer your personal data to unauthorized third parties, unless we have your explicit consent or are required by law to do so.
10. RIGHTS
Users who provide information through our platform, as data subjects, have the right to access, rectify, download or delete their information, as well as to restrict and oppose certain processing of their information. While some of these rights apply generally, others only apply in certain limited circumstances. These rights are described below:
Access and portability: to access and know what information is stored on our servers, you can send us your request through our contact information.
Rectification, restriction, limitation and deletion: You may also rectify, restrict, limit or delete much of your information.
Right to be informed: Users of our platform will be informed, upon request, about what data we collect, how it is used, how long it is kept and whether it is shared with third parties.
Object: Where we process your data based on our legitimate interests, as explained above, or in the public interest, you may object to this processing in certain circumstances. In such cases, we will stop processing your information unless we have legitimate grounds to continue processing it or where necessary for legal reasons.

Rights related to automated decision-making, including profiling: Users may request that we provide them with a copy of the automated processing activities we conduct if they believe that data is being unlawfully processed.

The request to exercise their rights will be attended and answered within a maximum period of 10 working days.
11. RIGHT OF EDITING AND DELETION
We are committed to ensuring that our users maintain full control over their data. We therefore grant users the explicit right to modify or delete any information they have provided to the platform.
Users may exercise this right directly through their user account by facilitating the editing or deletion of data such as their personal information, profile information, etc. In the event that certain requests cannot be handled through the user account, users may contact us through our contact information to make the necessary edits or deletions.

12. PROTECTION OF CHILDREN'S ONLINE PRIVACY

We do not collect any information from children under the age of 13 (minimum age allowed to collect and process information without parental or legal guardian consent). If we become aware that a child under the age of 13 has provided us with personal information, we will take steps to delete such information.

If you disclose your information to others, whether other users or Rentify vendors, different rules may apply to their use or disclosure of the information you disclose to them. Rentify does not control the privacy policies of third parties, and you are subject to the privacy policies of those third parties where applicable. Rentify is not responsible for the privacy or security practices of another Internet platform, including those linked to or from the Rentify platform. Please review the privacy policies of third-party websites or services that you access through the Rentify platform.
14. CHANGES TO PRIVACY POLICY
We reserve the right to change our privacy policy at any time. Changes will be promptly notified to our users and posted on the website. Your continued use of our website and services following these changes constitutes acceptance of the changes.
